Questions CTOs & Engineering Teams Ask
Security & Trust
Never. Credentials are scoped to environments and never visible to agents — by design, not a rule layered on top afterward. There’s nothing to leak, because agents never hold them in the first place.
Fitting Into Your Workflow
It plugs into what you already run. Agents pick up issues and tickets from your issue tracker automatically, open PRs against your existing repos, and post results back to the originating ticket, transitioning it automatically as work progresses. Alerts from your error-monitoring tool can trigger a session too, no manual triage needed. Every agent PR triggers your existing CI pipeline — nothing new to configure.
Not sure if the systems you use are supported by Dap yet? Ask us.
Adoption
Yes. The default is hosted by Crunchloop as a managed service — plug and play, nothing for your team to stand up. If you have specific needs that call for it to live on your own infrastructure instead, we deploy it on-premise too. Same platform either way; the difference is where it runs, not what it does.
Agents & Models
We run different models for different tasks — chosen for performance, and to keep inference affordable for you. They’re not our own models: think industry-tested options like OpenAI, Grok, DeepSeek, or Kimi, picked per task rather than one model for everything. You don’t need to track which does what — our evals are what keep quality consistent across them.
Competitors
Copilot, Cursor, and Devin are genuinely good at what they do — each makes one engineer faster. Their enterprise tiers have started adding team-level policies, audit logs, and some shared context too (this space moves fast — worth checking their current docs before you compare) — but those are largely admin-configured extras layered onto a per-engineer coding tool.
Dap is built the other way around: one governed system spans the whole delivery lifecycle by default. Agents activate automatically on real work — not just a chat prompt — and context compounds on its own from what every session actually did, across your whole team, not from a doc someone has to remember to maintain.
Ownership & What You Keep
You do. Everything an agent produces ships as a PR against your own repository — Dap doesn’t make any claim on it.
Engagement & Pricing
Yes. Classic Staff Augmentation is exactly that — the same engineers, without the platform — for teams not yet ready to bring AI into delivery, or that can’t yet.
Showcase
Yes — real client stories, on our Work page. See for yourself.
Origin
Dap is a nod to giving dap: the handshake exchanged as a sign of solidarity and mutual recognition. Agents and engineers can’t physically shake hands, so we borrowed the gesture as a metaphor for what the platform actually does — bringing two different worlds, human and virtual, together to close the loop.
